Londa Beach Hotel: Cyprus

June 17, 2015

Step inside Londa Beach Hotel and you’ll feel like you walked on set for a luxury travel magazine. Yes, it is that stunning. Sleek design, perfectly manicured landscaping, modern decor and the pièce de résistance: a breathtaking pool hugged by plush beach chairs that are dotted with tangerine towels. This, my friends, is paradise…

Nestled on the southern coast of Cyprus, this award-winning boutique hotel has everything you’ll need for a luxurious, seaside escape in Limassol:

Spacious Suites – We stayed in a Side View Suite on the 6th floor. It had a serene bedroom (neutral colours and sea-inspired decor), large living room with beautiful wood accents, two bathrooms and a private balcony. Highlights? The bed was heavenly (I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud), the closets were huge and well-lit and the TV is rotatable — brilliant!

Personalized Service – Ah yes, the main perk of staying at a boutique hotel: attentive staff who make a point to get to know you and your individual needs. Everyone – from the hotel porters and cleaning staff to the restaurant waiters and concierge – is super friendly and knowledgeable. No wonder they’ve won so many awards (most recently: TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, World Travel Awards Cyprus’s Leading Hotel and World Travel Awards Cyprus’s Leading Boutique Hotel).

Rejuvenating Spa – I’m a firm believer that a few hours of “me time” is essential during any vacation. Thankfully, the relaxation area (which includes a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, plunge pool and jet shower) is open and complimentary for all guests. I went the extra mile and booked a massage at the spa — although the therapist was lovely, your money is better spent elsewhere if you’re looking for a deep treatment.

Elevated Dining – No need to venture off the hotel grounds for great dining: you can enjoy classical Italian cuisine at the über-chic, award-winning Caprice Restaurant and Bar. Not only is the space gorgeous, but the service is fantastic and the dishes are refined. The ambience is top-notch: we had a romantic, candlelit dinner by the pool as we watched the full moon reflect on the Mediterranean. Oh, and breakfast is included for all guests and is something you don’t want to miss: fresh juices, fruit, baked goods, artisinal cheeses and warm dishes (you can even order à la carte if the extensive buffet doesn’t hit the spot). Do not leave without trying the fresh honeycomb: the island is known for its honey!

Fillet of seabass sautéed with seasonal vegetables, leeks and vegetable sauce. I devoured this!

Breathtaking Pool – Ok, I know I mentioned the pool at the beginning of this post, but I must revisit the highlight. OMG I am obsessed. I could spend countless days poolside sipping cocktails and staring off at the Mediterranean (the only thing missing was Don Draper). Side note: they make the best strawberry mojitos I’ve ever had! Back to the pool: it’s immaculately clean, tranquil and not overly-crowded. Sharing a few more shots of the magical oasis…

Overall we had an incredible stay at Londa Beach Hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting Cyprus. I had high expectations knowing it belongs to the exclusive SLH family and am happy to report that our experience far exceeded my expectations. That being said, there is always room for improvement: the elevators are awkwardly small (the smallest I’ve ever seen at a hotel), the hallways are in need of an upgrade and the beach is mediocre (the high tide had reduced its size during our stay). But don’t let these minor details deter you from experiencing this Mediterranean gem; the location, exceptional service and beautiful design propel the boutique hotel to the top of its class.

Our stay, meals and spa service at Londa Beach Hotel were complimentary. As always, all reviews and opinions are entirely my own.
