How excited was I when Budweiser invited me and a friend to their Why Not Grab a Bud event this Saturday?! There’s really no better way to launch the beginning of the 2013 TFC home schedule. I love beer, soccer and sunshine so – needless to say – it was a perfect outing.
We started the day off at the Real Sports Bar & Grill. If you’re a sports fan and haven’t been to this resto, I highly recommend grabbing a few friends and heading down to catch a game. Why you ask? They have great food (14 award-winning wing flavours), over 36 beer selections and 199 HD TVs! Budweiser kindly showered us with free beer, food and awesome TFC swag!
I’ve always been a fan of Budweiser (maybe it’s nostalgia: my parents used to serve it at their restaurant). I also love their ads. The one they ran at the Super Bowl was one of my faves (tearjerker alert):

After we were well fed and hydrated, we marched over to the match (samba band and all) with our scarves held high.
Best part of the day? We won!!! TFC defeated Sporting Kansas City 2-1. My fave moment of the game was when Earnshaw did a flip after he snapped TFC’s 15-game winless streak. I also thought John Bostock had a great game. Apparently he is over on loan from Tottenham – I hope we get to keep him!
I’m really looking forward to catching loads more TFC games this season. I also love hearing the fans from my balcony and watching the sea of red storm Liberty Village after the games!
